Bio

LUIS SANSANS ARNANZ is an award winning cinematographer born in Madrid, Spain, and is based in Mexico City, with almost two decades of filmmaking experience.

He started working as an AC on such films as Y tu mamá también (And Your Mother too), with the Academy Award Winnig director, Alfonso Cuaron and Master and Commander for director Peter Weir to mention but a few.

He soon moved onto steadycam and camera operator on films like: Man on Fire, from director Tony Scott, Resident Evil: Extinction, the latest instalment in the Bond franchise, Spectre with DP Hoyte Van Hoytema and Before Night Falls under the helm of director Julian Schnabel.

As a cinematographer, he has over 20 credits under his belt. Some of these films are: Dias de Gracia (Days of Grace) directed by Everardo Gout, Escobar: Paradise Lost with Benicio Del Toro and directed by Andrea Di Stefano which was shot in Panama, Captive with David Oyelowo and Kate Mara shot in Mexico and the USA, The Belko Experiment directed by Greg McLean, Carnaval de Sodoma directed by Arturo Ripstein and Conejo en la luna (Rabbit on the Moon), shot in England and directed by Jorge Ramírez Suárez among others.

His talents span over to the television world. He participated on the Netflix series: Narcos, seasons 2, 3 & Narcos Mexico, seasons 1, 2 with Wagner Moura, Pedro Pascal and Diego Luna. His most recent work was the TV series Aquí en La Tierra (Here on Earth) for FOX Studios done by Gael Garcia Bernal as creator/director, among others. This production will participate in Canneseries’ main competition, of its new TV series festival during April of 2018.

He is currently in preproduction of a docudrama for History Channel in Cape Town, South Africa.
